National Pupil Premium Conference
Ensuring Successful Outcomes
Friday 15th March 2024
How can we diminish the impact of disadvantage for our poorest pupils and their families – Pupil Premium or not? What has been shown to work? What does the research evidence tell us? What is working on the ground in schools across the country? And how does Ofsted go about judging our Pupil Premium work?
The Pupil Premium Conference: Ensuring Successful Outcomes – the 16th such event organised by SecEd and Headteacher Update - will seek to answer these questions and many more. With 11 practical workshops and two essential keynote sessions, the event will help you to evaluate your work, hear about tried and tested approaches, and discuss your work to tackle the consequences of disadvantage with colleagues from across the country.
The one-day event will showcase the work of primary and secondary schools, while also hearing from experts in behaviour, supporting vulnerable children, SEND, mental health and many more areas.
Our keynote sessions are not to be missed. The first offers a three-point plan to diminish the impact of disadvantage in your school; the second gleans insights from 35 Ofsted inspections in order to understand their Pupil Premium expectations.
Our expert-led workshops, meanwhile, will focus on ideas, interventions and strategies that have been road-tested and which can be implemented in for your classrooms, schools, and trusts. Other themes include Pupil Premium 'best bets', using CPD to drive PP work, behaviour management, tutoring tips, supporting vulnerable pupils, adaptive teaching, and quality-first teaching.
