Kurt Doyle
Headteacher
St Peter's Catholic Primary School, Gloucester

Kurt Doyle is Headteacher of St Peter's Catholic Primary School, Gloucester, a 400-pupil school situated near the centre of Gloucester City. Kurt was not always a teacher. Having grown up in poverty – a free schools meal child himself – Kurt became involved in professional football as both a player and a coach before deciding to change careers. His first teaching position was in an inner city school in Gloucester with 60% Pupil Premium and 43 spoken languages. After becoming a senior leader and then Acting Headteacher, Kurt took on an interim headship at a school in Cheltenham and remained there substantively before being appointed Headteacher at St Peter's in September 2024. He has also been a secondary school governor and, for his sins, he is a supporter of Birmingham City Football Club.
