Emma Jones studied at Birmingham University (Drama and Theatre studies with Joint Honours of Media, Culture and Society). After graduating, she completed her PGDip in English. Emma’s previous roles have been predominately focused on Pastoral as a Head of College, Head of Year and Deputy of Pastoral but she has also had experience as a Head of Media Studies. She is now an Assistant Headteacher at Alderbrook School in Solihull and her whole school responsibilities are Transition, Deputy DSL, Behaviour and relationships (as part of the Cradle 2 Career project with Reach Foundation) and also leading the Trauma Informed approach at the school. She is currently responsible for Pupil Premium and in recent years she has worked closely with her students, staff and external agencies to put in interventions that are bespoke and purposeful for the individual. From her experience she firmly believes that it is the transformational relationships we have with students and families that underpin everything that we do in schools and that every student, especially disadvantaged students, deserve a champion, someone to uplift, guide and support them.
