National Pupil Premium Conference

Ensuring Successful Outcomes
Friday 26th February 2027

What works when it comes to supporting our most disadvantaged students? And how can these innovations and approaches be adapted for your school’s context?

Pupil Premium: Ensuring Successful Outcomes is a national conference for anyone involved in the planning, delivery and evaluation of Pupil Premium work in primary or secondary schools. This flagship event, organised by SecEd and Headteacher Update, will take place for the nineteenth time on Friday 26th February 2027.

The event is packed full of case study workshops and evidence-led sessions, considering what the research tells us about effective practice as well as what is working on the ground in schools across the country.

With two in-depth keynote sessions, 12 practical workshops and some special partner sessions, the event will give you access to tried and tested approaches and the chance to reflect upon and improve your own work to tackle the consequences of disadvantage in school.

Our opening keynote dives into how we can make our classrooms work for pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds through making your curriculum and teaching inclusive, and how planning and assessment can support disadvantaged pupils.

Our second keynote will show how we can support more able disadvantaged pupils, remove barriers in the classroom, and raise challenge for all students.

Workshop themes include building belonging; supporting disadvantaged students in key stage 3; adaptive teaching; attendance and reading strategies; speech and language needs; closing the financial literacy gaps; supporting families before they arrive in your primary school; removing the school systems that actually widen the gap – and much more.
